The Governor is the chief executive of the state whose function is to administer the laws of the state. As a record of activities, the governor may require that a scrapbook be maintained. This series consists of scrapbooks consisting primarily of photographs, newspaper articles, editorials, and cartoons relating to the Governor's Office. Typical subjects covered by these scrapbooks include the governor's inauguration, public health in the state, price wars, grant funding, state budget, general fund concerns, unemployment, legislation, gubernatorial vetoes of legislation, taxes, the misuse of public funds, and education. A large portion of the scrapbooks from 1985-1986 is concerned with the health of Governor George C. Wallace.
